While Richie Kotzen is known for his wide-range voice and his virtuosic command of the guitar, he likes his guitar rig simple; as he prefers to let his fingers do the talking. The 2nd version of his signature RK5 Fly Rig still has the plug-and-play simplicity and portability of the original, but features Richie’s new “requests” for added versatility; making more and more players drawn to his simple yet efficient rig.
The RK5 V2 retains the same delay with tap tempo, a powerful boost, and Richies Signature OMG overdrive. New features include an independent reverb with choice of room size, a rotary speaker mode, compression, fuzz, a tuner, headphone capability and an XLR Output.
Another addition is an on/off button for the SansAmp section, so you can choose to retain the tone stack / EQ of the guitar amp you are plugged in, or override it with the SansAmp
The RK5 Fly Rig V2 is loaded with lots of practical features that a lot of players can relate to:
– Footswitchable Boost / Compression
– OMG Overdrive: Richie’s signature overdrive
– FUZZ: Turn the Fuzz switch on to convert the OMG into a fuzz-type distortion
– SANSAMP: Perfect when going direct to the PA
– Reverb with 2 “room” sizes
– Tuner: a gig essential, also mutes the signal for silent tuning.
– Delay with Tap Tempo
– ROTO: turn the Roto switch on to convert the Delay into a Rotary Speaker effect
